Dal Bello SIFE in Padova is thinking about the modalities and the criteria with which we can restart the economy, after facing  the Coronavirus emergency.

The hit given  by Covid-19 to productive activities has been heavy, thousands of jobs have already been lost and the economic losses for companies are enormous.

In order to ensure a return to normality, a colossal and joint effort will be needed from all those involved, institutions, companies and workforce.

Dal Bello Sife Padova:  the point of the situation.

In Italy, something has been set in motion, the Government has launched a series of decrees to safeguard families and businesses by making available 300 billion euros, but the exact terms of use and who will benefit are not known.

The European Union does not seem to have the character to react in a decisive manner and with common intent.

The German Prime Minister Angela Merkel is reluctant, and the Dutch parliament has delivered its latest rejection of the issue of Coronabonds, arguing that there is no emergency such as to justify the release of funds under extraordinary conditions.

As an entrepreneur, in the last few days I have sent a communication to my Dutch suppliers, urging them to put pressure on their government to make a positive decision on the matter.

I have tried in vain to involve other entrepreneurs in my sector so that a common front could be formed to give strength to the appeal, but my request for unity has fallen on deaf ears.

I am convinced that no one will be able to save themselves from this health and economic emergency by acting alone.

A matter of choices.

The timing of economic interventions, both national and international, are crucial at this stage. If we wait too long to act, we will have to count the companies that have been lost and with them their know-how, their experience and their productive professionalism.

We are aware that our wealth is the result of the tenacity of our people, of the shared vision that we have of sacrifice, of the common conception that we have of doing business.

As an entrepreneur, the choice is to make Italian companies work in order to safeguard the social fabric that has allowed us to grow and that will ensure a faster recovery.

This vision of mine is unfortunately not in line with the choices of some companies in the area that prefer to turn to multinationals made in the USA and increase their profit margin of 0.2%,

I would like to remind you that their wealth and growth is due to the territory in which they operate and that by doing so they will crumble the purchasing power of local businesses already tried by this terrible health emergency.
